This course is for both the beginner and those with some carpentry experience. Beginners will be introduced to woodworking basics, specific skills in measurement, layout, and the proper use of hand tools. Students will make a few small projects with step-by-step procedures and instructions. The more advanced students will continue using these skills while working more independently on individual projects. Safety is stressed at all levels.

Millwork

The use of power equipment, safety, and operation make up this program. Students are required to do a project that involves the use of circular saws, jointers, radial saws, planers, shapers, and small power tools.
Prerequisite: CP-01/previous carpentry training.

Fine Woodworking & Refinishing

This combination of fine woodworking and furniture refinishing course has it all. Whether you have a piece of furniture that needs a facelift or you would like to create a new turn-ofthe-century piece, this course is for you.
For furniture refinishing the first class will be an orientation to evaluate the piece, and an overview of different types of finishes and solvents. Students are responsible for all materials, solvents, and finishes. Reconstruction is held to a minimum.
