Greater New Bedford Vocational Technical Institute’s Mission is to prepare students for the future and develop graduates into tomorrow’s workforce.
The Mission and Goals are organized around three, core values; Preparation, Passion, and Perseverance.
Currently, the GNBVTI offers evening programs including Advanced Manufacturing, Automotive, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Foreign Language, Medical, and Welding. In addition, there are several evening continuing education/licensure courses including Construction Supervisors, Electrical, OSHA, Plumbing, and Steam Engineering.
Lastly, we also offer a Ch.74 Post-Secondary Marine Technology program that is accredited by the American Boat and Yach Council (ABYC) and Yamaha.

New Class – Fall 2022
Due to an increasing need in the community, an extra language class was added. Sign Up and Learn Conversational Spanish. This introductory course in the Spanish language will enable the student to speak, as well as understand, common expressions.

Job Opportunities in Marine Technology
The Marine Technology Program prepares students to work in both the commercial and recreational marine industries. Course Cost $1,500 per Trimester, but Training Could Be Free if You Qualify!
Program Highlight: Upholstering
Do you appreciate the craftsmanship of a favorite old piece of furniture, but know that it needs some care and a modern style? Do you enjoy working with your hands and feel proud when you design and create a unique final product?
